Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Consultant Psychiatrist at AIMAN. The Consultant Psychiatrist will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for clients across a range of mental health conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing telepsychiatry consultations, prescribing and monitoring psychopharmacological treatments, and collaborating closely with clinical psychologists, counselors, and other mental health professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in case conferences, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols. The Consultant Psychiatrist may also support psychoeducation efforts, supervise junior clinical staff where needed, and engage in continuous professional development to align with best practices and AIMAN’s standards of care.
Qualifications
- Advanced clinical expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, including experience with a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology, medication management, and monitoring treatment effectiveness and safety.
- Strong skills in telepsychiatry and remote clinical care, including comfort with digital platforms, electronic medical records, and secure communication tools.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, working effectively with psychologists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and rapport-building skills, with a patient-centered, empathetic, and trauma-informed approach.
- Sound clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, and adherence to evidence-based and guideline-driven practices.
- Relevant medical degree (MBBS) with recognized specialization in psychiatry (MD/DNB or equivalent), full professional registration, and appropriate licensing to practice.
- Experience in community mental health, holistic care models, and culturally sensitive practice within diverse populations is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to ongoing learning, research-informed practice, and participation in training, supervision, or teaching activities as needed.
