🔍 Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and quality-driven Pathologist to lead and oversee end-to-end laboratory operations.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring technical excellence, NABL compliance, and operational efficiency, while driving continuous improvement in diagnostic quality and turnaround time (TAT).

🧪 Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Reporting
• Review, verify, and authorize laboratory reports prior to release
• Provide clinical interpretation and consultation to clinicians
• Supervise core departments:
• Clinical Biochemistry
• Hematology
• Immunology
• Serology
• Molecular Diagnostics (if applicable)
• Approve reference ranges, critical values, and test methodologies

2. Quality & NABL Compliance (ISO 15189)
• Ensure strict adherence to NABL accreditation standards
• Review and approve:
• SOPs, Quality Manuals, Work Instructions
• Monitor:
• Internal Quality Control (IQC)
• External Quality Assurance (EQAS / PT)
• Lead internal audits & management review meetings
• Handle non-conformities and CAPA implementation

3. Laboratory Operations & Supervision
• Take full ownership of lab functioning and workflow
• Maintain optimal Turnaround Time (TAT)
• Ensure correct protocols for:
• Sample collection, storage, and transportation
• Oversee timely report authorization and processing

4. Validation & Technical Excellence
• Validate and approve:
• New equipment and assays
• Method validation reports
• Calibration and analytical performance data
• Conduct reagent lot verification and system checks

5. Training & Team Development
• Train and mentor:
• Lab technicians
• Phlebotomists
• Evaluate technical staff competency and hiring suitability
• Ensure continuous skill enhancement across teams

6. Clinical & Critical Decision Support
• Identify and communicate critical test values immediately
• Guide clinicians on:
• Test selection
• Result interpretation
• Reflex testing

7. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
• Maintain NABL-required documentation:
• QC records, validation reports, equipment logs
• Ensure compliance with:
• Biomedical Waste Management Rules
• Lab safety protocols
• Patient confidentiality standards

8. Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities
• Plan manpower and equipment based on workload
• Evaluate referral labs and vendor performance
• Represent the lab in:
• Audits
• Client/vendor discussions
• Conferences & business meetings

🎓 Qualifications
• MD Pathology / DNB Pathology / DCP (Mandatory)
• 3–5+ years of relevant laboratory experience
• Prior experience as NABL Signatory (preferred)

⚡ Authority & Decision-Making
You will have full authority to:
• Approve/reject laboratory reports
• Suspend testing if quality standards are compromised
• Approve new methods, technologies, and equipment
• Act as authorized signatory for diagnostic reports
