Role Description This full-time, on-site Consultant Nuclear Medicine role is based in Hyderabad at Omega Hospitals. The Consultant will perform and interpret nuclear medicine diagnostic studies, including PET-CT, SPECT, and other radionuclide imaging procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration, optimizing imaging protocols, and providing timely, accurate reports to referring physicians. The role involves multidisciplinary collaboration with oncology, cardiology, and other specialties to support patient management and treatment planning. The Consultant will also participate in case discussions, contribute to clinical audit and protocol development, support training of junior staff, and promote best practices in nuclear medicine.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, with specialized expertise in Nuclear Medicine and familiarity with related fields such as Cardiology.
- Demonstrated experience working with physicians in multidisciplinary teams, including close collaboration with oncologists and other specialists.
- Competence in Emergency Medicine principles relevant to nuclear medicine practice, including managing contrast or radiopharmaceutical-related reactions and urgent imaging needs.
- Ability and willingness to provide Training and mentorship to junior doctors, technologists, and other clinical staff.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine (MD/DNB or equivalent), with valid medical registration.
- Proficiency in interpreting PET-CT, SPECT, and other nuclear imaging modalities, and in using relevant imaging software and hospital information systems.
- Knowledge of radiation safety regulations, quality assurance processes, and standard operating procedures in nuclear medicine.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centric approach, with the ability to work effectively in a high-volume tertiary care setting.
