Job Purpose: The Mine Planning Executive for Open Cast mining is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of effective mine plans to optimize resource extraction and operational efficiency. This role involves assisting in the preparation of detailed mine designs, scheduling, and budgeting for open cast mining projects. The Mine Planning Executive collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the alignment of mine plans with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Analysis
- Develop and implement strategic mine planning initiatives for underground coal mining projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct technical and financial analysis for project bids, providing insights and recommendations to support business development and project acquisition efforts.
- Prepare detailed project reports, including geological models, block models, pit designs, and production schedules using advanced mining software (e.g., Minex, Vulcan, Deswik).
Operational Planning and Optimization
- Create short-term and mid-term operational plans for ongoing and upcoming underground coal and metal mining projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and utilization.
- Optimize ore and waste scheduling plans to improve overall profitability and operational efficiency, while minimizing environmental impact.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure the smooth execution of mining plans and to address any operational challenges.
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure all mining activities comply with stringent environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, including the preparation and submission of statutory reports (e.g., Mining Plans, Mining Schemes, Techno-Economic Feasibility Reports).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure timely adaptation of compliance practices.
- Coordinate with legal and environmental teams to manage compliance and reporting obligations.
Technology Integration and Innovation
- Support the digital transformation of mining operations by identifying and implementing new technologies that enhance planning efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Lead the evaluation and integration of advanced technologies such as automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics into mine planning processes.
- Provide technical support to various departments (e.g., Engineering, Production, Environment) to facilitate the adoption of innovative solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Support
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, regulatory authorities, and industry partners.
- Provide technical support during budget planning, operational decision-making processes, and project execution.
- Engage with stakeholders to address concerns, ensure project alignment with business objectives, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Team Development and Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior mine planners and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, offering constructive feedback and development opportunities to team members.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across departments.
