The
Social Science Curriculum Specialist is responsible for designing and developing curriculum content aligned with prescribed educational frameworks (e.g., IB, CBSE, Cambridge, and other international frameworks). The role focuses on creating age-appropriate, conceptually progressive, and engaging learning experiences across key Social Science domains, including History, Geography, Civics, and Economics. The consultant will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure curriculum materials are pedagogically sound, technically accurate, and suitable for large-scale implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop grade-wise curriculum frameworks, units, and lesson content for Social Science.
- Define and align learning outcomes with curriculum standards and competencies.
- Ensure logical progression of concepts across grade levels, avoiding repetition and gaps.
- Develop engaging classroom activities, assessments, and instructional strategies, including inquiry-based and activity-based learning approaches.
- Integrate interdisciplinary connections and real-world applications into curriculum content.
- Review and refine content to ensure accuracy, clarity, inclusivity, contextual relevance, and age appropriateness.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback and update curriculum materials as required.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, curriculum teams, psychometricians, and project managers to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Participate in review meetings with government bodies and other stakeholders and incorporate feedback into curriculum deliverables.
Minimum Qualification
- Master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in curriculum design, instructional content development, or educational program development, with demonstrated experience in:
- Curriculum framework and scope-and-sequence development
- Lesson and unit design for Social Science subjects
- Learning outcomes and competency alignment
- Development of classroom activities and assessment tasks
- Experience working with international curriculum frameworks such as IB, CBSE, Cambridge, or other comparable educational standards.
- Experience contributing to large-scale education or curriculum development projects, preferably involving government entities, education boards, or international education organizations.
Desirable Experience And Skills
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based, competency-based, and student-centered learning approaches.
- Understanding of key learning theories and their application to curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment development, and learner engagement.
- Knowledge of curriculum progression and age-appropriate pedagogy across K–12 grade levels.
- Ability to integrate interdisciplinary learning and real-world applications into curriculum design.
- Experience collaborating effectively in multi-stakeholder environments, including with government agencies, subject matter experts, and curriculum teams.
- Strong content review and editing skills, with attention to accuracy, clarity, inclusivity, and contextual relevance.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and collaborative project management or content development tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present curriculum concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Preferred (Optional)
- Experience working on education reform, curriculum transformation, or large-scale learning initiatives.
- Exposure to assessment design principles and alignment between curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Experience developing teacher support materials, instructional guides, or professional learning resources.
- Familiarity with digital or blended learning content development.

- The base salary range advertised represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The base pay is only one aspect of the Total Rewards Package that will be offered to the successful candidate.
