Role Description The Consultant Critical Care will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit and other high-dependency areas. Responsibilities include assessing and managing critically ill patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, supervising the implementation of evidence-based treatment protocols, and coordinating with consultants from other specialties. The role also involves guiding junior doctors and nursing staff, participating in emergency response and stabilization, and contributing to quality improvement and clinical governance activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Siliguri, requiring active participation in shift duties, on-call coverage, and collaboration with hospital leadership to enhance critical care services.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical expertise in Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, with the ability to manage a wide range of acute and complex conditions.
- Experience or interest in Home Care and Elder Care, including continuity of care planning and support for vulnerable patient populations.
- Ability to provide Training and mentorship to junior doctors, nursing staff, and allied health professionals in critical care practices.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia, Pulmonary Medicine, or equivalent, with formal training or certification in Critical Care (e.g., IDCCM, IFCCM, DM Critical Care), as applicable.
- Proficiency in ICU procedures, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and use of relevant medical technologies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, with a patient-centered and ethical approach to care.
- Willingness to work in an on-site, full-time hospital setting in Siliguri and participate in rotational duties.
