Position Overview
The Consultant – Radiation Oncology will be responsible for delivering comprehensive cancer care through advanced radiation therapy and evidence-based oncology practices. The role involves diagnosis, treatment planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing patient management while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong clinical expertise, compassion, precision in treatment planning, and commitment to advancing oncology care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care
· Diagnose and evaluate oncology patients requiring radiation therapy and related treatments.
· Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based oncology protocols.
· Administer and supervise radiotherapy procedures while ensuring treatment accuracy and patient safety.
· Monitor patient response, treatment progress, and post-treatment recovery plans.
· Provide comprehensive patient counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and recovery expectations.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
· Participate in Tumor boards, clinical discussions, and multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
· Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and allied healthcare professionals.
· Ensure continuity of care across diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up stages.
Clinical Governance & Quality
· Maintain accurate clinical documentation, treatment records, and medical reporting standards.
· Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols, clinical guidelines, and hospital quality standards.
· Participate in clinical audits, research initiatives, and continuous medical education programs.
Qualifications & Experience
· MD / DNB in Radiation Oncology / Radiotherapy.
· Valid medical registration and license to practice.
· Minimum 5–10 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
· Expertise in modern radiotherapy technologies and oncology protocols.
