Position Title: Construction Manager
Location: Project Site - UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat
Immediate joiners Preferred*
Department: Project Execution / Construction
Reports To: Project Manager / Head – Projects
1. Role Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all construction activities at the project site to ensure timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety protocols. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and coordination abilities to manage contractors, resources, schedules, and site execution challenges.
2. Key Responsibilities
2.1.Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop site execution plans, construction schedules (MSP / Primavera), and resource deployment plans.
- Analyse drawings, BOQs, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, safety, and client teams for seamless execution.
2.2. Site Execution & Management
- Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).
- Allocate daily tasks to supervisors, contractors, and workforce.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, QAP, and technical standards.
- Monitor material consumption, productivity, and progress against schedule.
2.3. Contractor & Workforce Management
- Manage subcontractors, including mobilization, work allocation, measurement, and billing.
- Resolve technical queries and site issues raised by contractors.
- Ensure optimal workforce utilization and productivity.
2.4. Quality Assurance & Control
- Ensure adherence to QAP, ITP, and company quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC team and client representatives.
- Close NCRs, site observations, and ensure corrective actions.
2.5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce strict compliance with HSE norms and preventive safety measures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and hazard identification.
- Ensure usage of PPE and safe working practices at site.
2.6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports, material reconciliation, manpower records, and progress reports.
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress presentations.
- Support project manager in billing, measurement sheets, and client communications.
2.7. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary execution interface with clients, consultants, local authorities, and vendors.
- Handle site audits, inspections, and meetings effectively.
- Manage escalations and propose corrective actions.
3. Required Qualifications & Skills
3.1. Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or relevant engineering discipline.
3.2. Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in construction execution.
- Experience in Solar EPC / Substations / Industrial / Infrastructure projects (as applicable).
3.3. Technical Skills
- Good understanding of construction drawings, surveying, and site engineering.
- Knowledge of civil & electrical construction practices.
- Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera, AutoCAD/MS Office.
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes and safety norms.
3.4. Behavioral Skills
- Strong leadership and team-handling skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Result-oriented with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and in remote site locations.
