CAMS at CPV Three Rivers Energy Center is hiring an O&M Technician with a primary focus on electrical maintenance. There will be a strong preference for candidates with experience and aptitude for multi-craft skillset.
Applicants at varying levels will be considered based on experience. Selected candidate will be placed in either a single skill position (pending training completion for multi-skill) or directly into a multi-skilled position based upon prior experience. Individuals who have capabilities in multiple skills are preferred, as these will be expected at this facility.
The Three Rivers Energy Center is a highly efficient 1,250MW (2) 1x1 single shaft configuration natural gas combined cycle facility featuring GE 7HA.02 gas turbines and GE A650 steam turbines with air cooled condensers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of all plant equipment to include instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment
- Performs predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plant equipment
- Assist in planned outages, overhauls, and major maintenance activities
- Conduct all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner
- Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Collecting and recording all necessary operational and instrumentation data to make informed decisions on maintenance of plant equipment
- Responds to plant upset events and emergencies to support 24/7 operations.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions
- Assist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability
- Complete required operations/maintenance training and qualification programs
Requirements
- Ability to identify problems through inspections, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Knowledgeable in both AC and DC circuits, medium voltage switchgear, MCCs, three phase motors, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Must be able to work from ladders, manlifts, elevated cat walks, working in dusty atmospheres, cold/hot conditions, confined spaces, work on stack lighting at an elevation of 300 foot, use safety personal protective equipment and be able to lift at least 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to read single line drawings, prints, schematics and P&ID’s
- Willingness to perform work independently and a strong desire for personal ownership and responsibility for their work
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance, or a similar related field, as a qualified plant operator and/or maintenance technician
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A strong familiarity with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs and technical standards
- Possesses An analytical mindset with a questioning attitude for determining sustainable solutions
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and other computer-based productivity tools.
- Promotes and works with others in a team environment.
- Experienced with maintaining detailed maintenance records, reports, and work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
