About the Role
Draeger India Private Limited is seeking a highly motivated Configuration & Master Data Engineer to join our Production team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining product and manufacturing master data within SAP while ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing process knowledge, hands-on SAP experience, and a passion for driving digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Master Data & Configuration Management
- Manage and maintain manufacturing master data including Material Masters, BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, and Product Configurations in SAP.
- Ensure master data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Support SAP operations and resolve routine transactional and data-related issues.
- Lead SAP data transfer activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement, Planning, and IT teams to ensure accurate data setup and maintenance.
- Coordinate Design Change Requests (DCRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure timely implementation in SAP.
- Monitor workflows and routing changes to support seamless manufacturing operations.
Continuous Improvement & Digitalization
- Drive standardized master data processes through templates, validation checks, workflows, and controls.
- Identify and resolve root causes of data quality issues.
- Support automation initiatives and digital manufacturing projects.
- Contribute to paperless manufacturing and process optimization initiatives.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports related to master data quality and manufacturing performance.
- Generate periodic reports and provide insights to management.
- Analyze data trends and recommend process improvements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems and master data management.
- Knowledge of SAP architecture and manufacturing master data structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
- 5-8 years of experience in Manufacturing, Configuration Management, ERP Systems, and Master Data Management.
- Experience working with Engineering Change Management (DCR/ECO).
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
- Exposure to software validation activities.
