Role Summary :
The Configuration Management (CM) Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining the integrity, traceability, and control of product data throughout the lifecycle of aerospace systems. This includes managing design changes, documentation, and ensuring compliance with standards like AS9100 aerospace quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Configuration Identification
- Define and manage configuration items (CIs) such as parts, assemblies, and documents
- Establish baselines (functional, allocated, product)
2. Change Management
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for impact analysis
- Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings
3. Configuration Status Accounting
- Maintain records of configuration status across lifecycle phases
- Track revisions, versions, and change history
4. Configuration Audits
- Conduct Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
- Ensure product matches design and documentation
5. Documentation & Data Management
- Manage engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documents
- Ensure proper version control using PLM tools like Siemens Teamcenter PLM software or PTC Windchill PLM software
6. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to aerospace standards such as AS9100 aerospace quality standard, ISO 10007 configuration management standard
- Support internal and external audits
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles
- Knowledge of aerospace product lifecycle (design → manufacturing → maintenance)
- Experience with PLM tools (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor CAD software, NX CAD software)

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in configuration management or engineering data management
Preferred Experience
- Experience in aerospace or defense organizations.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA)
- Exposure to product lifecycle processes and quality systems
