Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Computer Hardware Technician. The technician will diagnose and repair hardware issues for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and related peripherals, including component replacement and configuration. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine computer maintenance, installing and upgrading hardware, supporting network-connected devices, and documenting work performed. The role involves providing remote support to customers, guiding them through basic troubleshooting steps, and coordinating any service visits when required. The technician will collaborate with other team members to ensure timely resolution of issues and maintain high standards of customer service.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in desktop computers and general computer maintenance, with the ability to install, configure, and upgrade hardware components.
- Strong troubleshooting and hardware support skills, including diagnosing system faults and implementing effective solutions.
- Experience with printer support, including setup, hardware repair, and connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts and the ability to support connected devices is beneficial.
- Ability to provide clear, patient technical support to customers in a remote environment.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and reliable documentation practices.
- Prior experience in computer hardware repair or a similar technical role; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are an advantage.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or degree in IT, electronics, or related field preferred.
