CAD Operator – Job Description
Department: CAD / Technical / Sampling

Location : Chembur , Mumbai
Role Summary
Responsible for accurate pattern making, marker planning, consumption calculation, grading, and CAD execution
for women’s apparel styles. The role requires strong technical understanding of garment construction, fit, fabric
behavior, and production feasibility to support smooth sampling and bulk execution.
Key Responsibilities (KRR)
• Develop accurate patterns as per tech pack, reference sample, measurement chart, and buyer requirements.
• Prepare markers with optimum fabric utilization while maintaining garment quality and fit standards.
• Calculate and maintain BOM, fabric consumption, and marker efficiency accurately.
• Perform grading for all size sets as per approved size charts.
• Coordinate with Sampling, Design, Merchandising, and Production teams for pattern corrections and execution
feasibility.
• Ensure pattern corrections are updated after fit comments and PP approvals.
• Maintain proper documentation of patterns, markers, consumption sheets, and style folders.
• Understand fabric behavior, shrinkage, embroidery placement, print matching, and production limitations while
making patterns.
• Support production team during pilot run and initial bulk execution for technical clarifications.
• Ensure timely completion of CAD activities as per TNA timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
• Experience in ladies wear manufacturing is mandatory.
• Experience in ethnic wear manufacturing will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of garment construction and sewing feasibility.
• Hands-on knowledge of CAD software such as Tukatech / Gerber / Lectra / Optitex.
• Good understanding of grading, marker planning, and fabric optimization.
• Ability to interpret tech packs, fit comments, and buyer specifications.
• Practical understanding of woven fabrics, prints, embroidery placements, and shrinkage behavior.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple styles simultaneously.
