Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaipur for a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer. The CFD Engineer will set up, run, and validate CFD simulations for aerodynamic configurations relevant to urban air mobility and other aerial platforms. Daily responsibilities include building and refining computational meshes, defining boundary conditions, selecting appropriate turbulence and physical models, and performing convergence and grid independence studies. The role involves analyzing aerodynamic performance, flow behavior, heat transfer characteristics, and thermal management of components, then translating results into clear design recommendations for the engineering and product teams. The CFD Engineer will collaborate closely with structures, controls, and systems engineers, prepare technical reports and presentations, and support experimental validation and design iterations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core fluid sciences, including Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, and Aerodynamics.
- Hands-on experience with Thermal Analysis and Heat Transfer, including thermal management of aerospace or mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with industry-standard CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM) and mesh generation software.
- Solid understanding of numerical methods, turbulence modeling, and best practices for CFD verification and validation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret simulation results, create concise technical documentation, and communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for automation and post-processing is preferred.
- Familiarity with UAVs, eVTOL, or on-demand air mobility concepts, and an interest in AI/ML-enabled aerospace applications is an advantage.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on-site in a collaborative environment in Jaipur.
