About ARPM
ARPM is an India-based planning and design intelligence studio. We combine urban planning, architecture, and custom AEC technology so teams make faster, implementation-ready decisions on complex built environments.
Founded in 2019, we work with governments, developers, design firms, manufacturers, and technology companies across Australia, USA, Austria, Singapore, India and Germany. Our practice spans city-scale frameworks to fabrication-ready detail — with computational design, DfMA, and purpose-built digital tools at the core of how we deliver.
The role
We are hiring a Computational Designer to expand delivery capacity on live client projects. You will sit inside a small, senior-led team and take real ownership of parametric models, scripts, and design-to-production workflows, as well as internal R&D opportunities.
Day to day, you will:
- Build and maintain Rhino + Grasshopper definitions for architectural, product, and urban-scale projects
- Develop parametric and algorithmic workflows that turn design rules into repeatable, reliable outputs
- Support DfMA and fabrication-aware delivery — nesting, detailing logic, quantities, and production-ready geometry
- Automate documentation and drawing production where scripting saves time and reduces error
- Contribute to configurator definitions and related parametric pipelines
- Collaborate with planners, architects, and technologists to translate briefs into robust computational tools and clear visual/technical outputs
- Document your workflows so definitions are maintainable, handoff-ready, and reusable across projects
- Help evaluate and adopt new plugins, scripts, and methods that improve studio standards
You will work on the kinds of projects that define ARPM: manufacturer configurators, canopy and facade systems, plugin-supported tooling, and computationally enabled planning/design studies — often for international clients, delivered from Gurugram.
What we’re looking for
Must-have
- Bachelor’s in Architecture or a closely related field (urban design, planning, civil engineering, etc)
- 2–5 years of professional experience in computational design, parametric design, or AEC technology (strong portfolios from fewer years will be considered)
- Advanced proficiency in Rhino 3D and Grasshopper — you can build clean, scalable definitions under real project pressure
- Solid 3D modelling judgment: you understand how geometry becomes buildable, documentable, and fabrication-aware
- Working fluency in at least one scripting language relevant to AEC workflows: Python, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience turning briefs into data-driven or rule-based design systems (inputs/outputs, constraints, versioned definitions)
- Clear communication: you can explain complex logic to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and produce strong visual/technical outputs
- Comfort working on-site in Gurugram, owning deadlines, and collaborating tightly inside a small team
Strong plus
- C# for Grasshopper components/plugins (or clear appetite to grow into it quickly)
- DfMA, panel/clip systems, timber or facade, modular product workflows
- BIM adjacency (Revit / ArchiCAD) and Rhino–Revit interoperability
- GIS / spatial analysis for planning-scale computational work
- Experience shipping tools used by clients or production teams — not only concept models
- Design-to-fabrication experience (even personal projects are acceptable)
Who thrives here
People who like real ownership in a small team; who treat computational design as a delivery craft, not only a portfolio aesthetic; and who want to work across architecture, manufacturing-aware systems, and AEC technology with international clients.
ARPM is not in the business of selling computational design as a luxury segment design gimmick or exploiting students through expensive upskilling courses. We take pride in our work and expect everyone in our team to have a similar outlook - a strong passion for solving problems that most people are oblivious to and the talent to deliver sustainable outcomes by applying emerging technologies. If that resonates with you, apply now!
