Job details:
We operate multiple LPG bottling plants and are looking for a sharp compliance professional to own our regulatory calendar — so nothing slips, no notice goes unanswered, and our licence renewals are never last-minute.
The role: This is a retainer engagement (est. 20–30 hrs/month) for an experienced compliance professional to build and run our end-to-end regulatory compliance system across LPG bottling plants — covering Factories Act, PESO/SMPV, Fire NOCs, Pollution Control Board filings, and labour law. You will be the single point of accountability for our compliance calendar, working closely with plant teams and Head Office.
Key deliverables:
- Compliance calendar - All monthly, quarterly & annual deadlines tracked across plants
- Monthly status report - Completed vs pending, upcoming deadlines, escalations
- Digital document repo - All licences, approvals & records — updated and audit-ready
- Regulatory liaison - PESO, Factory Inspectorate, PCB, Fire Dept — routine follow-ups handled
What you will do:
- Build and maintain a centralised compliance tracker covering all plants — mapping every statutory filing, renewal, register, and return with its due date and responsible owner
- Conduct monthly check-ins with each plant team; verify completion of filings and flag gaps before they become notices
- Coordinate directly with PESO/CCOE, Inspector of Factories, Pollution Control Board, and Fire Department for routine approvals, renewals, and follow-ups
- Ensure all licences, consents, inspection reports, and statutory records are collected, organised, and stored in a shared digital repository
- Escalate critical non-compliances to management immediately with a clear action plan
- Stay current on amendments to applicable regulations and proactively flag changes that affect our plants
Regulatory scope:
- Factories Act 1948 — registers, returns, safety requirements, hazardous process obligations
- PESO / Gas Cylinders Rules 2016 / SMPV (Unfired) Rules — licences, periodic inspections
- Fire NOCs and safety certifications
- Pollution Control Board — CTE/CTO renewals, environmental statements
- Labour laws — Minimum Wages, Contract Labour, PF/ESI, POSH Act
- Legal Metrology — weighing scale calibration and licensing
What we are looking for:
- 5–10 years of hands-on compliance / EHS / regulatory experience in LPG, oil & gas, or process chemicals industry
- Direct working experience with PESO/CCOE, Inspector of Factories, and State PCB — you know how these offices work and who to follow up with
- Ability to independently own a multi-plant compliance calendar with minimal hand-holding
- Meticulous with documentation — comfortable maintaining a live digital tracker and repository
- Preferred: background in EHS management, industrial law, or fire & safety
