About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Compiler Engineer to join our dynamic team at Qualcomm Innovation Center. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing LLVM and GCC compiler frameworks for Qualcomm’s advanced processors. Your expertise will directly influence the performance, efficiency, and reliability of software applications across various architectures. As part of our compiler team, you will collaborate closely with hardware architects, software developers, and testing teams to develop innovative compiler solutions that support Qualcomm’s next-generation platforms. Your work will involve researching new compiler optimization techniques, analyzing system integration challenges, and implementing solutions that enhance runtime and memory performance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to pioneering projects at the forefront of processor and compiler technology, impacting a broad spectrum of products and industries worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, coupled with relevant industry experience. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science, along with at least 4 years of software engineering experience, is required. Alternatively, a Master’s degree with 3+ years or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience will also be considered. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++, with a solid understanding of compiler development and optimization techniques. Experience working with LLVM or GCC frameworks, knowledge of ARM, AArch64, or RISC-V instruction set architectures, and a passion for compiler technology are highly desirable. Candidates must also have excellent analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and a strong desire to innovate within the compiler domain.
Responsibilities
As a Compiler Engineer at Qualcomm, your responsibilities will include:
- Researching, designing, and implementing compiler optimizations to enhance software performance and memory efficiency.
- Analyzing software requirements and collaborating with hardware and architecture teams to develop tailored compiler solutions for Qualcomm’s next-generation processors.
- Developing and maintaining compiler components within LLVM and GCC frameworks, ensuring compatibility and performance enhancements.
- Conducting system-level analysis to identify and resolve integration issues across hardware and software components.
- Working closely with software development, testing, and validation teams to ensure robust compiler performance.
- Documenting technical specifications, providing technical guidance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Staying current with emerging compiler technologies and industry trends to bring innovative ideas into Qualcomm’s development processes.
