About The Role
The compiler team at Qualcomm Innovation Center is seeking highly skilled compiler engineers to optimize LLVM and GCC for Qualcomm’s processors. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing compiler optimizations to enhance the performance and efficiency of software applications running on Qualcomm architectures. As a key member of the team, you will analyze software requirements, collaborate with hardware and architecture engineers, and develop innovative compiler solutions for next-generation processors. Your work will directly influence the performance, power efficiency, and reliability of Qualcomm’s products, contributing to the advancement of mobile and embedded systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in compiler development, programming, and system-level integration, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, with a focus on programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python. Experience in compiler development, particularly with LLVM or GCC frameworks, is highly desirable. Knowledge of instruction set architectures such as ARM/AArch64 and RISC-V will be advantageous. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a desire to work in a collaborative, innovative environment are essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams to develop robust compiler solutions.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and implement compiler optimizations to improve runtime performance and memory utilization of software applications.
- Analyze software requirements and collaborate with hardware and architecture teams to develop tailored compiler solutions for Qualcomm’s next-generation processors.
- Develop and maintain compiler codebases, ensuring compatibility and efficiency across various architectures.
- Identify and resolve system-level integration issues by working closely with software development, testing, and validation teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Stay current with advancements in compiler technology, processor architectures, and related fields to incorporate best practices into development processes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compiler infrastructure, tools, and workflows.
