Compensation Manager – India

Are you a seasoned Compensation professional with deep expertise in India rewards, statutory compliance, and global pay program design? We're a fast-growing, US-headquartered technology company shaping the future of healthcare payments — and we're building out our India People & Culture function.
This is a high-impact individual contributor + leadership role where you'll own compensation strategy, benchmarking, and administration for our India workforce while partnering closely with global HR, Finance, and business leaders.

What You'll Do:
Compensation Program Design & Administration
- Design, administer, and continuously improve base salary, incentive, and bonus programs for India associates
- Lead market benchmarking using established compensation surveys to maintain competitive pay positioning
- Drive the annual merit cycle, promotion review, and compensation planning process
Job Evaluation & Pay Structures
- Evaluate roles using structured methodologies and align them to internal job levels and pay bands
- Maintain salary ranges and audit internal pay equity across functions and levels
Incentive & Variable Pay
- Administer bonus and variable incentive programs end-to-end
- Assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data
India Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with India labor laws and statutory obligations including:
- Code on Wages / Minimum Wage requirements
- Provident Fund (EPF) and ESI contributions
- Payment of Bonus Act requirements
- Professional Tax obligations
- Gratuity eligibility and statutory benefit administration
Analytics & Insights
- Analyze compensation data and translate insights into clear recommendations for HR and business leaders
- Maintain compensation data integrity and support cyclical and ad-hoc reporting needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Finance on offer decisions, equity reviews, and budgeting
- Collaborate with global compensation teams to align India programs with worldwide company practices
What You Bring
- 6–8+ years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, or HR Analytics roles
- Solid grounding in India compensation practices, statutory requirements, and pay structures
- Exposure to US or global compensation practices — highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with salary benchmarking tools (Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, Aon, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable working in Excel/Google Sheets with large compensation data sets
- Clear, confident communicator who can explain complex pay decisions to non-HR stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Certifications such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or GRP are a plus
