Office Aide/Classroom Float
Location: Early Childhood Center on Milham, previously Curious Kids
Job Summary:
Support with opening and closing of the early childhood center, Engage and support families as they arrive, support with staff and family/caregiver log in and out, answer phones to provide timely customer services, manage all social media advertisement and building signage, support schedules by monitoring student ratios and monitoring support needs via radio communications. Act as building float to support classrooms in the event of an absence of no guest teacher assigned for that day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage families as they arrive and check IDs as needed at pick-up time to ensure safety at all times. ● Provide scheduled tours with families to support enrollment as needed. ● Answer telephone, maintain front office voicemail and relay all messages to appropriate staff in a timely manner. ● Act as building float to support classrooms in the event of an absence of no guest teacher assigned for that day.
- Provide support with front office schedules such as alternating of opening and closing procedures. ● Assist with Procare monitoring in alignment with front office attendance to ensure appropriate ratios.
- Record morning attendance for preschool.
- Supports licensing mandates with postings updated and checked in all classrooms in alignment with Go Bag preparation.
- Monitoring and support with building radios to address all programming needs.
- Maintain bi-weekly food service menus from Food Services, share hard copies for families/caregivers and staff and upload on the Center Facebook page.
- Support Family Engagement Activities outside of school hours.
- Support Climate and Culture within the staff with Birthday tracker, whole team snack needs and extra activities.
- Update classroom rosters and share with food services for breakfast and lunch services.
- Support media outlets for advertisement of early childhood events, announcements and flyers to promote the center.
- Maintain all signage in the center to be up to date and relevant to families/caregivers and staff. ● Assist classroom teachers with project preparation tasks as needed. ● Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Curious Kids
- Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.
- Support with other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Director, Early Childhood Program Manager and Early Childhood Coordinator.

Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- One-year office experience.
- Customer service oriented.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district staff and the public.
- Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment.
- Proficient computer and document skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
