Description
Maintains office buildings in a clean and orderly condition, including both inside and outside areas.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Empties trash and garbage containers in offices and common areas daily.
2. Cleans and/or sweeps debris from the entrance area of building.
3. Vacuums rugs in offices and hallways. Spot cleans when necessary.
4. Sweeps and mops floors.
5. Scrubs and cleans all fixtures in lavatories daily; replaces paper products and soaps as needed.
6. Cleans walls and woodwork as needed.
7. Empties and cleans water catchers on water coolers.
8. Notifies supervisor for restocking cleaning agents and required paper products.
9. May complete some routine exterior maintenance such as sweeping sidewalk, shoveling snow, and mowing grass
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Will work during normal business hours.
2. Will work inside and outside; will be exposed to outdoor elements as required to perform responsibilities.
Requirements
1. Education and Experience
a. HS diploma/GED OR pass internal written assessment.
b. 6 months of previous janitorial/cleaning experience.
2. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
a. Knowledge of basic janitorial/maintenance skills.
b. Positive work attitude.
3. Certifications – No certifications required.
4. Verifications and Screenings
a. County clearance of criminal convictions.
b. A drug screen prior to the commencement of employment.
5. Physical and Mental Requirements
a. Physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, ability to climb stairs, carrying, stooping, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
b. Mental requirements include ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple tasks.
c. Staying awake and alert while on duty.
