Role Description The Community Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for building, nurturing, and moderating Yuvaa’s youth communities across online and offline spaces. Day-to-day tasks include engaging with community members, responding to queries and feedback, facilitating discussions and leading a community team that reflects Yuvaa’s values and mission. The role involves planning and executing community campaigns, events, and initiatives, as well as collaborating with content, insights, and partnerships teams to translate youth voices into meaningful activities. The Community Manager will track engagement metrics, document community stories, and use insights to improve community experiences and impact while also stewarding the community vertical’s growth at Yuvaa. This position requires consistent on-ground presence at events, workshops, and partner locations in Mumbai as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong community engagement skills, including facilitation, relationship-building, and empathetic listening with young audiences.
- Experience managing online communities across social media platforms, including moderation, feedback handling, and fostering safe, inclusive spaces.
- Ability to plan and execute events, workshops, and campaigns, with solid organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi and other Indian languages is an advantage.
- Comfort working with youth-focused content and social-impact themes, with sensitivity to diverse identities and lived experiences.
- Basic understanding of data and insights, including using engagement metrics to inform community strategies.
- Prior experience in community management, youth work, social media, or related roles; experience in media or non-profit sectors is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, adapt to fast-paced environments, and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
