About the Role:
We're looking for a Communications Lead to shape CEQUE's storytelling and public presence — turning on-the-ground program impact into content that builds our brand, deepens funder relationships, and grows support for public education reform. The role spans strategy and hands-on execution, from writing donor reports to briefing journalists to running our signature event.
What You'll Do:
Content & Brand
- Own communications strategy and brand voice across digital, print, and media
- Lead the "Stories of Change" pipeline — documenting stories from classrooms and coaching visits with field teams
- Write/edit content for the website, annual reports, newsletters, donor decks, and social media; oversee video and photo content
Digital & Media
- Manage social channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube) and content calendars
- Build media relationships; draft press releases and pitches; coordinate interviews and coverage
- Events & Public Engagement
- Lead comms for Voices of Change, CEQUE's signature annual event, end to end
- Build CEQUE's presence in talks, panels, and roundtables — pitching spokespeople, prepping materials, exploring new formats (webinars, co-hosted sessions)
Fundraising Support
- Create donor-facing materials (proposals, impact reports, pitch decks) with the fundraising team; support CSR partner communications
What We're Looking For:
- 5–8 years in communications, journalism, or content strategy; nonprofit/education sector experience preferred
- Strong storyteller and writer; English fluency, Hindi/Marathi a plus
- Experience managing social media and events/talks from a comms standpoint
- Comfortable travelling to program sites across Maharashtra
- Self-starter who can manage multiple stakeholders with minimal oversight
Nice to Have
- Experience with CSR/foundation funders, video/photography, Mailchimp, or Squarespace.
