Since 2013, Sampark Foundation has worked to transform learning in rural government schools across India through its flagship Sampark Smart Shala programme — using innovative, low-cost teaching-learning materials, audio devices with the voice mascot “Sampark Didi,” and bot-enabled mobile apps for teachers.
Today, Sampark Foundation impacts 1.8+ crore children across 1.4+ lakh rural schools in 8 states, including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. Each year, we train 5+ lakh teachers at the block level — our true partners of change.

ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an energetic and creative Communication Executive to join our Communications team. This is an early-career role designed for high-potential freshers who want to learn the craft of communications in the social impact space.
The role focuses on execution, coordination, content support, documentation, and communication operations — while offering exposure to high-quality communication practices, cross-functional collaboration, and the broader social impact ecosystem. The Communication Executive will support senior team members across internal and external communication, social media, content development and campaign and event communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the team in drafting, editing, and proofreading content for internal and external communication — newsletters, announcements, social media posts, briefs, and reports.
• Assist in creating and scheduling content for social media platforms, including captions, basic visuals (using tools like Canva), and post coordination.
• Coordinate with program, field, and leadership teams to gather inputs, stories, photographs, and updates for communication assets.
• Provide communication support for events, campaigns, and stakeholder engagements — including pre-event preparation, on-ground coordination, and post-event documentation.
• Maintain and update content trackers, communication calendars, media databases, and documentation repositories.
• Help ensure consistency of tone, language, and brand guidelines across all communication touchpoints.
• Conduct basic research to support write-ups, press notes, campaign briefs, and presentations.
• Support documentation and reporting requirements, including periodic communication reports and impact stories.
• Take ownership of small, time-bound tasks and assist the senior team in day-to-day execution.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; working proficiency in Hindi is a strong plus.
• A natural flair for writing — clear, simple, and audience-appropriate.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in language, facts, and formatting.
• Comfort with basic digital tools — MS Office, Google Workspace, Canva, and common social media platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and respond positively to feedback.
• Strong coordination and interpersonal skills — comfortable working with team members across functions.
• A collaborative, team-first attitude with willingness to take initiative and ownership.
• Curiosity about social impact, education, and storytelling that creates change.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• Candidates from other disciplines with a strong portfolio or demonstrated writing ability are also encouraged to apply.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
• 0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships, freelance projects, college publications, or volunteer roles.
• Exposure to the development sector, NGOs, or education space — through internships, coursework, or volunteering — is a plus, not a must.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• Open to occasional travel for events, field visits, or campaign coverage.
• Brings energy, ownership, and a willingness to learn over a fixed idea of the “perfect job description.”
GROWTH OPPORTUNITY
This role offers a strong launchpad for a career in communications and social impact. Over time, the Communication Executive can expect to:
• Grow into specialised tracks — content and editorial, digital and social media, brand and campaigns, or internal communications.
• Take ownership of independent campaigns, content series, or communication initiatives.
• Work closely with senior communication leaders and learn from a multi-disciplinary team across program, design, and strategy functions.
• Build a portfolio of meaningful work that contributes to social impact at scale.
