About the Role
CDPP is looking for a Communications and Outreach Coordinator to support the organisation's broader communication and outreach work across its research, publications, events and public-facing activities. The role will involve translating CDPP's work into clear, accessible and engaging formats for different audiences, while maintaining the substance, quality and credibility of its work.
The role will cover communication across digital platforms, including the website and social media, as well as the development of visual and video content. Event communication and post-event content production will form an important part of the role, but will be one component of a wider communications and outreach function. The candidate will work closely with the CDPP team to understand the purpose and context of its work and determine appropriate formats and channels for communicating it.
Key Responsibilities
Communications and Outreach
· Understand CDPP's research, publications, events and other activities and identify appropriate ways to communicate them to different audiences.
· Develop and coordinate communication materials for CDPP's website, social media and other relevant digital platforms.
· Translate research and policy content into clear and engaging formats without losing its context, substance or accuracy.
· Support the planning and execution of communication and outreach around publications, events, campaigns and other CDPP activities.
· Coordinate with team members to ensure that communication materials are timely, accurate and consistent with CDPP's identity and objectives.
Content Development
· Develop and edit visual, video and other digital content based on CDPP's research, events and activities.
· Work with available photographs, video footage, presentations, reports and other source material to create appropriate content.
· Develop clear narratives and visual approaches suited to the purpose and audience of each piece of content.
· Prepare titles, speaker names, captions, subtitles, basic graphics and CDPP branding where required.
· Adapt content into appropriate formats for the website, YouTube, social media and other communication channels.
Event Communication and Documentation
· Understand the theme, objectives, speakers and communication needs of upcoming events.
· Coordinate with the CDPP team on the type of photographs, video footage and other material that may be required.
· Review and organise event footage, photographs and related material after events.
· Identify key discussions, statements, visuals and moments that can be used for post-event communication.
· Develop suitable post-event outputs based on the nature and requirements of each event, which may include videos, highlights, photographs, social media content or website updates.
· Upload and publish approved post-event content on relevant CDPP digital platforms, reducing duplication of work across the communications team.
· Maintain an organised archive of communication materials, source files and final outputs.
Review and Finalisation
· Share drafts with the CDPP team, incorporate feedback and make necessary revisions.
· Ensure consistency in quality, accuracy, branding and communication across platforms.
· Deliver communication and content outputs within agreed timelines.
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Media, Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, Visual Communication or a related field. Relevant practical experience may also be considered.
· 1–3 years of experience in communications, digital content production, video editing, outreach or a related field.
· Experience working with research, development, academic or public policy organisations would be desirable but not essential.
· Experience working on events, publications or public-facing communication will be an advantage.
Required Skills and Tools
The candidate should have:
· Strong communication and content development skills.
· Good video editing and visual content production skills.
· Ability to understand substantive material and communicate it clearly to different audiences.
· Understanding of visual storytelling, digital communication and audience engagement.
· Good organisational and file-management skills.

· Event-related communication and post-event content.
· Digital content based on CDPP's research, publications and activities.
