AgriWatch is looking for Agri- Commodity Analysts with experience in hands-on commodity technical/fundamental analysis, report writing, and engaging with traders & sector players.
Responsibilities
Perform the following activities for our commodity research desks:
· Gather, process, and summarize worldwide/domestic (India) fundamental data using the company’s network and third-party information services.
· Develop, maintain and carry out analysis of Supply & Demand statements.
· Data Analysis including statistical modelling to forecast production, consumption, availability and prices.
· Trade Flow Monitoring and Forecasting.
· Surveys and trend analysis on productivity, weather data, farmer sowing intentions and other parameters.
· Building market intelligence reports for the trading desks, policymakers, sourcing, and procurement departments.
Other tasks could include
· New information sources identification, initiation, and onboarding.
· Visit markets/mandis for information/informant scouting and trend discovery.
· Technical and chart analysis wherever possible.
· Developing trading arbitrage models and opportunities.
· Engage with market participants to create relationships for the symbiotic flow of information.
Mandatory Skills
· Data collection and analysis using statistical tools
· Communication skills that span ability to talk to farmers and to clients
· Report writing skills to effectively communicate findings and recommendations
Desired skills
· Strong data interpretation skills to connect the dots and predict the market.
· Proficiency in building and maintaining Dashboards using tools like Power BI
· Proficiency in R and/or Python for data analysis and building forecast models
· Ability to speak in more than 2 languages fluently
Desired Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates with at least 2- 3 years of work experience in any of the following markets:
1. Agri Commodities (Grains, Pulses, Veg Oil, Oil Seeds, Sugar, Cotton, Guar, Spices, Potato, Onion, Tomato, and other Fruits & Vegetables).
2. Experience in preparing Agri Market Intelligence Reports.
3. MBA or MA/M.SC/M. Phil in Economics or Statistics from a reputed institution
