Role Description This full-time, on-site Commis Pastry Chef role is based in Worli and focuses on supporting the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen. The Commis Pastry Chef will assist in the preparation and baking of pastries, breads, desserts, and other baked goods, following recipes and guidelines set by senior chefs. Daily responsibilities include measuring and mixing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, maintaining product consistency, and ensuring high standards of presentation. The role also involves maintaining hygiene and safety standards, organizing mise en place, and collaborating with the wider kitchen team to deliver a high-quality guest experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in culinary skills, including cooking techniques and understanding of kitchen operations.
- Hands-on experience in bakery and baking, with the ability to produce a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts.
- Practical knowledge of food preparation, including ingredient handling, portioning, and plating.
- Ability to follow recipes, maintain consistency, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
- Relevant culinary education or pastry/bakery certification is preferred.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to learn, take direction from senior chefs, and grow within the organization.
