Role Description The Commi 2 role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Bengaluru Area, working primarily at the Koramangala café. In this role, the team member supports the kitchen and beverage preparation, assisting senior staff with brewing coffee, preparing food items, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation. Daily responsibilities include ingredient preparation, basic cooking and plating, cleaning workstations and equipment, and ensuring timely service during busy hours. The Commi 2 collaborates closely with baristas and chefs, follows standard recipes and safety procedures, and helps maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Qualifications
- Foundational skills in food preparation and handling, including basic cooking, beverage preparation, and maintaining kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and consistently, with attention to portioning, presentation, and taste.
- Customer service mindset, including polite interaction with guests when needed and support for front-of-house staff during peak times.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills to work effectively in a fast-paced café environment.
- Willingness to learn artisanal coffee techniques and café standards; prior café, hotel, or restaurant experience is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices; formal training or certification in culinary or hospitality is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically active tasks, with flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
