Job Description
The Commercial Head will lead and own the company’s end-to-end financial operations, managing all financial transactions, cash and treasury functions, banking relationships and dispute resolution, tax compliance and strategy, financial controls and reporting, and will guide and mentor the finance team to ensure accurate books, timely statutory filings, strong internal controls, smooth bank interactions, and proactive support to executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Manage cash flow, treasury operations, working capital, and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial service providers.
- Resolve banking issues and disputes (NEFT/RTGS failures, chargebacks, KYC, limits, reconciliations) and negotiate banking facilities and fees.
- Own tax compliance and strategy for GST, income tax, TDS and other statutory obligations; coordinate and manage tax audits and assessments.
- Implement and maintain financial controls, SOPs, approval matrices, and anti-fraud measures; ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly financial statements, cash reports, variance analysis and management dashboards to senior leadership.
- Support commercial teams on pricing, credit terms, contract financial clauses and customer dispute resolution.
- Mentor, train and supervise the finance team; set objectives, conduct performance reviews and build capability within the function.
- Qualifications
- Cost Accountant (CMA), MBA Finance or equivalent professional qualification.
- 6 – 15 years of progressive finance experience with hands-on exposure to accounting, taxation and banking operations;
- Deep knowledge of Indian tax regime including GST, income tax, TDS, e-invoicing and statutory filing processes.
- Proven experience resolving complex bank and payment issues and managing bank relationships.
- Strong ERP experience and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation skills and ability to work with auditors, tax authorities and banks.
