Position Summary

The Donor Experience Specialist plays a key role in building lasting relationships between donors and the mission of Come and See. This position is especially focused on the planning and execution of stewardship events and experiences—large and small—that express gratitude, build trust, and invite deeper engagement. The ideal candidate is highly relational, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality and event coordination as a tool for donor retention and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Stewardship Event Planning & Execution


  • Plan logistics of stewardship events, including set visits, screenings and boutique cultivation events.
  • Coordinate event communications, guest list management, and follow-up touchpoints.
  • Work closely with venues, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution and exceptional hospitality.
  • Create environments that reflect the heart and values of the organization, leaving supporters feeling seen, appreciated, and inspired.

 

Donor Stewardship & Hospitality


  • Support the implementation of a yearly stewardship calendar.
  • Help plan and execute Christmas and Easter gifts with the Donor Experience Manager.
  • Research, identify, and evaluate potential vendors for donor gifting opportunities aligned with branding and budget for set visits, events, and donor stewardship.
  • Track and send personalized milestone notes/gifts.
  • Ensure every donor touchpoint is personal and mission-aligned.

 

Collaborative Relationship Support


  • Partner with Development Officers to coordinate small group cultivation engagements and special visits.
  • Collaborate with appropriate team members to execute donor stewardship mailings.
  • Collaborate with Development Operations Manager, Gift Processing Specialists, and Donor Experience Manager to execute event creation in Virtuous, including marketing segments to enter pledges accurately and monitor fulfillments.
  • Assist Donor Experience Manager on site with fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Assist Donor Experience Manager in event outreach including invitations, questions, monitoring RSVPs, and post-event follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor experiences, communication, and feedback in the CRM.
  • Help brainstorm and implement new ideas for delighting and honoring our supporters.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Warm, professional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Virtuous) a plus.
  • Passion for creating meaningful, mission-aligned experiences.



Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3 years in donor relations, event planning, hospitality, or fundraising.
  • Proven experience planning events and coordinating logistics.

  • Working Conditions: This is a full-time position (40+ hours per week) primarily performed in an indoor office environment. The role can be remote or based at our Colorado Springs corporate office with a hybrid arrangement, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent sitting and use of standard office equipment. Has the ability to lift approximately 15-20 pounds. The ability to hear to take phone calls as well as to clearly communicate verbally.
