Hardware and Software Support Technician
Our Technology Service and Support team is seeking a Hardware and Software Support Technician to install, operate, diagnose, analyze, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hardware (e.g., computers, tablets, printers) and their operating systems. You will provide endpoint support for all users at Colorado Springs Utilities, and the work that you do is critical to supporting our infrastructure of computers, phones, printers, copiers, and a variety of applications necessary for our employees to successfully perform their jobs.
Key Focus Areas:
- Managing the provisioning and monitoring of device usage and enrollment of new devices in our inventory
- Providing technical support by independently troubleshooting technology equipment and software systems and applications
- Overseeing organizational telecommunications records and reports, including cellular phone procurement and assignment, and billing and coordinating with telecommunications account providers
- Collaborating with other sections in our Infrastructure group and across our Technology department to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of technology across the organization
- Providing technical and in-service assistance for inter/intra network communications including voice, data, and video
- Performing backups of departmental data across the organization to comply with investigative needs
- Testing, setting up, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of audio, audio-visual, video, interactive, and presentation-related equipment systems
Who You Are
- Relevant and progressively responsible technology support experience
- Proficiency in Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android OS is valued
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is valued
- Certifications in CompTIA ITF+ and/or CompTIA A+ are valued
- A valid, unrestricted driver's license is required for this role
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
-Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
-Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
