Demand Side Management (DSM) Supervisor

Join Colorado Springs Utilities and our team as a Demand Side Management (DSM) Supervisor, where you’ll lead a dynamic group of engineers and conservation specialists in shaping the future of energy management. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking leader passionate about driving impactful programs in DSM and distributed energy resources. You’ll be responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of critical initiatives and programs that support our organization’s integrated resource plans.

*This position will be filled as either an Engineering Supervisor (if the selected applicant has an engineering degree), OR a Planning Supervisor (if no engineering degree).

Key Focus Areas: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Oversee the ideation, design, implementation, and evaluation of DSM and distributed energy resource programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices
  • Drive program effectiveness by leveraging data analytics, new technologies, and creative problem-solving approaches
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources, providing clear justification and regular progress updates to stakeholders
  • Oversee the growth and adaptation of DSM programs to meet evolving regulatory requirements (e.g., Clean Heat Plan, electrification initiatives)
  • Represent the organization in cross-functional teams, industry forums, and with external partners, including utilities and government agencies
  • Perform other duties as needed to support organizational success
     

Who You Are: A forward-thinking leader passionate about driving impactful programs in DSM and distributed energy resources; integral in the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of critical initiatives and programs.  Those who thrive in this role will bring a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least 7 years of professional experience, with demonstrated leadership in DSM or related fields or equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Colorado Driver’s License may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
