Title: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Technician | Outpatient Psychiatry

Shift: 10-hour days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with openness to Saturdays.
Location: On-Site | 1295 Kelly Johnson Blvd, Suite 100 Colorado Springs, CO 80920 and 8580 Scarborough Dr STE 125, Colorado Springs, CO 80920 (location may change in the future to meet the needs of the company)
Job Summary:
The TMS Technician is responsible for coordinating and administering TMS treatments, supporting patients through each session, and documenting progress. This role requires a mix of healthcare administration skills, meticulous attention to detail, and an empathetic, patient-focused approach.
Scope of Duties:
Essential Functions
Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule TMS treatment appointments.
- Verify medical insurance authorizations.
Patient Care & Treatment
- Administer TMS treatments according to protocols.
- Obtain accurate patient vitals.
- Accurately position the TMS equipment's electromagnetic coil.
- Ensure head and neck support to keep patients still during sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup.
Patient Interaction & Support
- Explain TMS procedures and possible effects to patients, answering their questions.
- Create a supportive environment, offering compassion and reflective listening to patients with depression and/or anxiety.
- Conduct patient assessments and administer psychiatric rating scales before treatment.
- Conduct patient consultations and discharge consultations.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Record session notes.
- Collaborate with certified TMS psychiatrists on patient care.

- Proficient in TMS treatment protocols to include Major Depressive Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Nicotine Dependence, and Generalized Anxiety.
- Willingness to learn how to administer TMS treatments and assume high-level responsibility.
- Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with mental healthcare professionals.
- Advanced ability to ensure patient safety and comfort, and answer questions.
- Proficiency in taking session notes and assisting patients to complete psychiatric rating scales.
- Exceptional communication, as well as interpersonal skills to guide and reassure patients.
Qualifications :
Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Current CPR Certification
- At least one year of experience working in a mental health setting
- Successful completion of TMS Certification (training and certification provided during the initial period of employment)
Preferred
- Current Medical Assistant certification or Medical Healthcare Administration certification
- Associate degree or higher in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, and medical billing/coding (e.g. ICD-10/CPT codes)
- Experience with Google Workspace
- Military Veteran status, military spouse, or previous work in military/government helping agencies or underserved populations
Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body motions, including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Some sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching
- Standing and walking
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability to communicate with co-workers and others in person, by phone, and via online correspondence
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment can be loud and requires the use of protective ear equipment
