Scope of Responsibility:
As a Processing Area Leader you will be responsible for effectively managing all functions related to Processing production and maintenance activities including developing and managing continuous improvement initiatives as established by the FP&R guidelines for all systems to improve the plant’s quality, productivity, maintenance, and reliability performance. You will stablish and maintain effective KPI’s, leading process/ batching improvements in the areas of reliability, waste, product quality, safety, and cost per pound. In addition you will track performance, and make recommendations for optimizing performance and quality.
Core Responsibilities:

Drive operational excellence aligned with safety, quality and FP&R standards

Develop and manage the continuous improvement systems as established by FP&R guidelines and standard by conducting regular data driven CI reviews, coordinating cross-functional evaluations of CI projects through ROI, Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP) and manage CI project timelines to achieve optimization initiatives in applicable areas including Raw, Batching, Receiving and Processing.

Provide leadership, development, and coaching for Processing Focus Resource and Maintenance Team on enhanced efficiencies and timely support for the business and plant operation

Manage the maintenance functions in the relative areas of the facility to effectively schedule and execute maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance (PM) plans as well as autonomous maintenance (AM) activities while leveraging the SAP PM System and work order process

Implement and drive autonomous maintenance (AM) and preventive maintenance (PM) programs in accordance with FP&R Standards

Establish and maintain effective Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measurement, tracking and reporting tools, and establish corrective actions for continuous improvement for Process and Batching.

Assist in achievement of plant KPI’s by working with Team Leaders and other leadership in order to translate business needs into daily operations and create technical solutions

Lead the development of employee training programs, process improvements and optimization plans for the Process department (safety, throughput, yield, quality, and cost).

Implement training programs for greater productivity performance

Establish, maintain, audit and analyze Shop Floor data structure

Support plant and QA in identifying quality defects in Process and driving resolution internally and with suppliers to improve quality

Develop, validate and transfer Process and Batching SOPs and conduct reviews

Manage capital expenditure budgets and deliver continuous improvement projects in applicable areas that reduce manufacturing variances and drive automation improvements in the applicable areas

Support implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety initiatives. Ensure personnel adhere to Hill’s policies, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices, including Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in a related field such as Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain management, or Business

5+ years work experience in manufacturing, production or operations.

3+ years of supervisory experience
Preferred Experience:
- Operations Team Leader experience
- Food Related Production Experience
- Technical proficiency including: Experience using ROI, Continuous Improvement Tools, Training others, Conflict resolution, Presentation skills, Understanding of financial measures, SAP, Wonderware working knowledge, AIB, FDA, USDA and other regulatory agency design requirements
- Proficient in Statistical Process Control, CPk and Continuous Improvement Methodologies
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, working from heights relevant to the facility, working in confined spaces and hazardous conditions, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Ability to work in the raw minor ingredient area, plant floor, and warehouse during reconciliation, inventory, and project activities

Ability to work in an office environment

Ability to wear all required PPE and fall protection equipment

Ability to work from heights and to routinely climb 3+ flights of stairs

Ability to work irregular shifts and on all shifts as needed
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $96,800.00 - $137,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
