About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, adaptable, self-starter with a clear passion for learning and development to join the learning and talent development (L&TD) team. This position is a great opportunity for personal growth and advancement in the L&TD field. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Talent Development, the Learning and Talent Development Specialist is a vital leader for guiding the assessment, development, and implementation of a variety of L&TD efforts across the College, such as program development and learning for Colby Pathways, onboarding efforts with ColbyRISE, and helping to foster a culture of learning at Colby. We encourage inquiries from candidates who will contribute to the diversity of our College, including its cultural and ethnic diversity. Responsibilities • Conduct a learning needs assessment with stakeholders to guide the design and delivery of learning solutions for Colby Pathways. • Guide and/or design learning solutions using a variety of interactive formats such as online courses, in-person programs, blended learning, micro-learning videos, job aids, etc. • Help managers and their teams promote a culture that embraces change and feedback. • Partner with the Human Resources team and subject matter experts/stakeholders around the design, development, and implementation of learning solutions. • Facilitate/present Colby Pathways programs to a variety of levels of the organization. • Lead ColbyRISE's new hire onboarding efforts, including Day 1 Orientations and post-orientation communications, resources, and activities. • Optimize Workday Learning to build a comprehensive library of content/resources and utilize data-driven reporting for tracking engagement and learning trends. • Analyze and evaluate L&TD solutions and their effectiveness to develop recommendations. • Review internal feedback and external trends to innovate Colby Pathways and L&TD programming, activities, and resources. • Cultivate and maintain trusting and positive working relationships across the College. • Deliver clear, concise, and consistent communication and serve as an advocate to champion change. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline. • Proven experience in a professional environment working in instructional design or technology, adult educational development, and/or the learning and talent development field. • Demonstrated professional presence with strong oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills. • Collaborative and growth-oriented mindset to work across differences, be agile, and manage outcomes. • Self-directed with strong judgment, decision-making, and project management skills to adjust priorities and complete a multitude of tasks with minimal supervision. • Experience analyzing situations and offering creative solutions. • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe applications; familiarity with Workday preferred. • Motivated to work as a member of a team, establish priorities, and work collaboratively as a member of a diverse community.
