Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

As a Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), you will work closely with our production engineering teams to build and scale the infrastructure that powers Coinbase. You will use your deep technical expertise to design, build, and operate highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems. You will work on a wide range of challenges, from automating infrastructure provisioning to optimizing production workloads to building tools that enable developers to rapidly and safely deploy their code. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the reliability and performance of Coinbase's products and services.​ What you'll be doing:​ - Design, build, and operate highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable infrastructure services and platforms​ - Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management​ - Optimize production workloads and environments for cost, performance, and reliability​ - Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities​ - Drive adoption of best practices and standards across the engineering organization​ - Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve developer productivity and system reliability​ - Troubleshoot complex issues and provide on-call support for production systems​ What we look for:​ - 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or site reliability engineer​ - Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Rust)​ - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)​ - Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)​ - Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and security concepts​ - Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)​ - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills​ - Strong communication and collaboration skills​ - Passion for building reliable, scalable, and secure systems​
