Technology Requirements
- Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics (v11.x or later) including report, model, and metadata development.
- Strong expertise in Framework Manager modeling and publishing, including query mode settings and DMR design.
- Deep understanding of CQM vs DQM, including behavior differences, performance characteristics, and typical migration issues.
- Hands on experience converting CQM packages to DQM, adjusting relationships, calculations, and governors, and testing outputs.
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills for queries, joins, filters, and aggregation differences between CQM and DQM.
- Practical experience creating and maintaining drill through definitions/paths between reports, including parameter passing and security checks.
- Working knowledge of Cognos Transformer for building models and PowerCubes to support OLAP-style analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL) for validating data and tuning queries.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Cognos Analytics 12 Cloud deployments or prior on prem to cloud Cognos migrations.
- Knowledge of performance tuning techniques for DQM, including caching and query service settings.
- Familiarity with content store migration, security integration, and deployment automation.

- Roles & Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute migration of Cognos 11 on prem content, data sources, and configurations to Cognos 12 Cloud environments (DEV/TEST/PROD).
- Assess existing packages, reports, drill through definitions, and PowerCubes for compatibility and required refactoring in cloud.
- Perform CQM to DQM conversion in Framework Manager, verify models, and resolve incompatibilities and performance issues.
- Design, enhance, and maintain Framework Manager models (relational/DMR), including metadata, relationships, determinants, and governors.
- Debug and troubleshoot report failures, query errors, data issues, and performance bottlenecks across reports, models, and data sources.
- Configure and validate drill through paths and drill through definitions between summary and detail reports in Cognos 11/12.
- Cognos Analytics, CQM, DQM
- Work with Cognos Transformer models and PowerCubes where applicable, ensuring they remain usable or are transitioned appropriately in the target architecture.
- Collaborate with DBAs, ETL, and infrastructure teams to align data source connectivity (JDBC), security, and performance in cloud.
- Produce clear technical documentation for migration approach, model changes, drill through setups, Transformer models, and troubleshooting steps.
