About the role
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain software solutions that enable business operations to achieve company goals and objectives. The role involves analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing, and support of software applications. The candidate will work independently on moderately complex projects, utilizing best practices and design patterns to ensure project success and code reusability across different Business Units. Experience: 5+ years of rigorous application development and hands-on experience using Java – Spring Boot framework. 3+ years of experience in the Insurance or Mortgage Insurance domain, working on building bespoke applications. Mandatory Skills: Proficient in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 & CSS. Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring WS, Spring Rest, Apache Camel. Experience in implementing APIs and integration technologies in distributed enterprise environments using GRAPHQL, REST, JSON. Strong understanding of server-side software, scalability, performance, and reliability. Understanding of continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins and GitHub actions. Proficiency in UI design & business process design, UI modular development. Proficient in working with databases like MySQL. Experience working with microservices. Secondary Skills: Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to write and understand written documents, emails, and other forms of electronic communications. Ability to discuss, articulate, and simplify technology to non-technical people. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong customer service skills to provide end-user/business owner systems support. Experienced in agile development methodology. JIRA knowledge is a plus. Good-to-Have Skills: Some experience with Cloud platforms, particularly AWS. In-depth understanding of multi-tier applications, serverless architecture, cloud computing, and database design. Experience working with authentication and authorization.
