Role Description
The Coding Mentor is a full-time, remote role responsible for guiding students through coding concepts and fostering their interest and expertise in technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching live coding sessions, providing tailored feedback, developing engaging lesson plans, troubleshooting student queries, and monitoring their progress. Mentors will also contribute by creating an inclusive and inspiring online learning environment.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
- Strong foundational knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking
- Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, or creating educational materials
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with the ability to encourage and motivate students
- Problem-solving skills to address student challenges effectively
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and tools is a plus
- Formal education or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered
Responsibilites
- Conduct engaging and interactive online coding classes for students aged 5–18 years
- • Teach programming concepts in a simple, fun, and student-friendly manner
- • Customize teaching methods according to different age groups and learning levels
- • Help students build projects and improve problem-solving skills
- • Maintain a positive and encouraging virtual classroom environment
Requirements:
- • Prior experience teaching coding online to children and teenagers
- • Strong communication and classroom management skills
- • Knowledge of programming languages/tools such as Scratch, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Roblox, AI tools, or similar technologies
- • Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners
- • Reliable internet connection and ability to conduct online sessions professionally
