YouTube Video Editor (Storytelling & Retention Focused)

🚀 About the Role
We’re looking for a YouTube-first video editor who understands how to turn raw footage into engaging, binge-worthy videos.
This is not basic editing — you need to think in story, pacing, and audience retention.
🎥 What You’ll Do
- Edit long-form YouTube videos (8–20 mins) with strong storytelling
- Structure videos for:
- Strong hooks (first 10–20 seconds)
- Smooth flow & pacing
- High retention
- Add:
- Motion graphics, zooms, cuts, memes (where needed)
- B-roll, sound effects, music for engagement
- Work with creators/founders to translate ideas into compelling narratives
- Repurpose long-form into shorts (optional but preferred)
- Continuously improve edits based on audience retention & performance
🧠 What We’re Looking For
- 1–4 years of experience in YouTube video editing
- Strong understanding of:
- YouTube storytelling structure
- Retention, pacing, and audience psychology
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects / Final Cut Pro
- Experience working with:
- YouTubers / creators / content teams
⚡ Must-Have Skills
- Knows how to:
- Build engaging intros (hook-driven)
- Maintain viewer attention throughout
- Strong sense of:
- Timing, cuts, and visual storytelling
- Ability to turn average footage into high-quality content
🎯 Bonus (Big Plus)
- Experience editing for:
- Educational / tech / finance / storytelling channels
- Understanding of:
- YouTube analytics (CTR, retention graphs)
- Basic knowledge of:
- Thumbnail/title alignment with content
