About Englizz & The Mission
We are building Englizz—a low-latency Voice AI English tutor natively integrated into WhatsApp. Millions need affordable, real-time conversational practice, and we are solving this by building an AI that listens, speaks, and corrects grammar instantly via voice notes and calls. We have secured $35,000 USD in Azure credits to fuel our scale, but our runway to launch the core MVP is brutally short. We are currently in a high-stakes, 7-day do-or-die launch sprint.
Job Description (The Challenge)
We don't need a manager; we need a lethal, hands-on Systems Architect who will take 100% ownership of the tech stack from day one. You will:
Own the MVP Launch: Take complete control of the existing repository, fix bottlenecks, and ship the core product within a 7-day sprint.
Voice AI Orchestration: Architect and optimize ultra-low latency conversational pipelines (STT/TTS/LLM) to keep response times under 500ms.
Asynchronous Messaging Architecture: Build highly reliable, stateful webhook handlers using the Meta/WhatsApp Cloud API, managing complex payloads and state (Redis/PostgreSQL).
Infrastructure Scaling: Deploy, manage, and ruthlessly optimize our infrastructure and GPU workloads on Azure to maximize our $35K credits.
Real-Time Communications: Implement robust, secure live audio/video streaming protocols (WebRTC, WebSockets) for future product iterations.
Requirements
The Hacker Mindset: You are a builder who reads documentation for fun, hates bloated code, and thrives under extreme pressure. You want to build an empire, not just collect a paycheck.
Immediate Availability: You are not serving a 30-day notice period. You are ready to clone the repo, review the architecture, and start pushing production-grade code today.
Deep Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in backend engineering using Python (FastAPI/Django) or Node.js.
AI/ML Integration: Proven experience integrating Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic) and Voice/Audio models (Whisper, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, etc.) in a production environment.
Systems Architecture: Deep understanding of database indexing, state management, retry mechanisms, and scaling resilient cloud architectures.
The "Skin in the Game" Requirement: You must explicitly understand and agree that this is a zero-salary, pure equity role built for a co-founder.
