Tech Co-Founder (CTO) – Social Gaming Startup (Tryb)
About Tryb
Tryb is building the future of social networking for Gen Z.
Instead of passive scrolling, Tryb helps people meet new people, play games, form communities, and build real connections online.
We are starting with college campuses, building a platform where users interact through games, social experiences, and shared activities.
Think of the intersection of Discord, Tinder, and casual gaming — designed for the next generation.
The company is currently in the early stage, led by Akhil KT (Founder & CEO) — an IIT Madras alumnus and product leader with 10+ years of experience building consumer products, fintech platforms, and mobile games.
We are looking for a Tech Co-Founder to build the technology foundation of Tryb.
Role: Tech Co-Founder / Founding CTO
This is a founding role with significant equity ownership and the opportunity to build a category-defining consumer platform.
You will lead the entire technology vision, architecture, and engineering execution of Tryb.
What You’ll DoBuild the Product
- Architect and build the core platform powering Tryb
- Lead development of real-time multiplayer social experiences
- Design scalable backend systems for social graphs, messaging, and gaming
- Build mobile applications (Flutter or native)
Define the Technology Stack
- Own all technical architecture decisions
- Design infrastructure for scalable user growth
- Set up backend, databases, and cloud infrastructure
Build the Engineering Team
- Hire and lead early engineers
- Define engineering culture and processes
- Scale the team as the company grows
Work Closely With the Founder
- Translate product vision into a technical roadmap
- Shape product features and user experience
- Participate in fundraising and investor conversations
What We’re Looking ForTechnical Skills
- Strong experience in backend systems and scalable architecture
- Experience with mobile app development (Flutter / React Native / native)
- Familiarity with real-time systems (chat, multiplayer, websockets)
- Experience building consumer apps or gaming platforms
Founder Mindset
- Excited about building a company from the ground up
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
- Willing to own product decisions, tech, and hiring
Bonus
- Experience with gaming platforms
- Experience with social networks or messaging products
- Experience building Gen Z consumer products

Compensation
