Role Description The CNC Turning, VTL & VMC Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Coimbatore. The operator will set up, program, and run CNC Turning centers, Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), and Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, selecting tools, loading materials, monitoring machine operations, and performing in-process inspection to maintain quality standards. The role also involves routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting basic issues, optimizing machining parameters for efficiency, and documenting production activities. The operator may support training of junior team members and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and ensure safe, organized workstation practices.
Qualificationsd
- Candidates should possess strong Programming skills for CNC Turning, VTL, and VMC machines, including editing and optimizing CNC programs.
- Candidates should possess solid Machining skills, including setup, operation, tooling selection, and use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Candidates should possess Teaching and mentoring abilities to guide junior operators and share best practices on machine operation and safety.
- Relevant technical qualification such as ITI, Diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related field.
- Experience working with engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality standards in a manufacturing or job-shop environment.
- Awareness of safety practices, ability to work in shifts if required, and capacity to maintain accuracy under production deadlines.
- Good communication skills, teamwork mindset, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
