Role Overview
The EV Charging CMS (Charging Management System) Engineer designs and scales the software infrastructure that connects electric vehicle chargers to the power grid and billing systems. Responsibilities include building OCPP backends, partner APIs, and operations dashboards, while ensuring 99.9% network uptime for charging networks.
Key Responsibilities
· Protocol Implementation: Develop and maintain backend protocols like OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) to manage, monitor, and control public and private EV chargers.
· API Integrations: Build and manage integrations with mapping apps, payment gateways, and roaming platforms (e.g., OCPI).
· System Architecture: Design highly scalable cloud microservices and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) to handle millions of charging sessions.
· Billing & Analytics: Create automated billing, dynamic tariff management (e.g., ₹10 per kWh), and idle fee calculation modules.
· User Dashboards: Build responsive, role-based access control dashboards for ops, customer support, and fleet managers.
· Energy: Analyze energy consumption data and user behavior to optimize peak-hour pricing and station profitability.
· Awareness of Hardware Diagnostics: Analyze hardware failures, interpret diagnostic logs, and perform Root Cause Analysis (CAPA), power modules, and firmware.
· Software & Connectivity: Ensure seamless operation of OCPP-compliant chargers, IoT network gateways, and smart-charging backend dashboards.
· ESG Compliance: Enforce the environ sustainability benchmark, safety practices, handle emergency shutdowns, and ensure all station operations comply with regulations.
· SLA Tracking: Maintain accurate service reports, log parts replacement, and ensure network Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
Qualifications
· Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer science/ Electronic Engineering.
· Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in EV Infrastcture CMS / software platform, Complain, Uptime monitoring, Uptime Tracking of EV charging infrastructure.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Energy analysis- DISCOM, CMS, Vendor Billing.
o Understanding of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, RS485, Ethernet, OCPP).
o Realtime monitoring of HT/LT electrical panels, Chargers, and Energy systems.
Physical Requirements & Location
· Location: Based primarily in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur (Maharashtra), with a required travel to various charging stations across the city and other location.
· Requirements: Ability to work as command control system- 24x7 monitoring, and respond to critical on-site maintenance calls.
