Duration of Position: 01 Month (To be Extended up to 12 months)
Brief On The Organization
Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a University established under IIPHG Act, 2015 of Gujarat State. It offers courses in the field of Public Health. It also undertakes various research projects in the field of Public Health. The university is established by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with support from the Government of Gujarat, Department of Health & Family Welfare.
Project Brief
The State Resource Centre for Concurrent Monitoring & Evaluation (SRC-CME) will serve as an independent technical arm of the Women & Child Development Department, Gujarat, to strengthen ICDS implementation. It will conduct periodic field verification of key nutrition, health, and service delivery indicators while validating programme data for improved reliability. The Centre will identify high-risk districts and vulnerable groups, and undertake thematic assessments on areas such as growth monitoring, anaemia, and Anganwadi Centre readiness. It will translate findings into actionable, district-specific recommendations and support corrective planning. The SRC-CME will also strengthen supervisory practices and promote data-driven decision-making. It will generate evidence for state planning and document good practices. It will operate under WCD with guidance from a state-level steering committee. Overall, it will enhance data credibility, enable early risk identification, and support continuous programme improvement.
Deliverables
Collect and validate field-level data from Anganwadi Centres on maternal and child nutrition, health, and service delivery indicators
Compile and analyse regional programme data to generate accurate, timely monthly concurrent monitoring reports, and share findings with Regional Deputy Director (RDD) and Regional Coordinator
Establish effective coordination with RDD-ICDS, DPO-ICDS, Health & Family Welfare Department, and other line departments to support programme implementation and follow-up actions
Undertake extensive field visits across assigned districts as per approved plans to verify ground-level implementation by their own vehicle
Monitor and assess district-specific interventions aimed at reducing malnutrition, identifying gaps and recommending corrective measures
Strengthen field-level capacity through supportive supervision and on-site guidance to improve programme delivery and data use
Facilitate translation of monitoring findings into actionable insights for district and regional planning
Any other activities as assigned by the PI or supervisor.
Qualification: Master of Social Work/ Home Science/ Sanitary Inspector & other allied health disciplines with 2 yrs. of experience
Experience: Minimum 02 years of experience in relevant discipline,
(Knowledge of Gujarati Language is must (writing, speaking, reading)
