Role Description
This is a full-time, remote role for a Cloud Support Engineer located in Gurugram. The Cloud Support Engineer will provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, manage cloud-based infrastructure, oversee system administration tasks, and ensure network security and performance. The role requires proactive problem-solving, technical expertise, and a focus on delivering excellent service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. AWS Cloud Management
- Provision, configure, and manage AWS resources (EC2, RDS, EBS, S3, EFS)
- Handle server lifecycle activities (provisioning, upgrades, decommissioning)
- Manage IAM users, roles, and policies
- Configure security groups and load balancers (ALB/ELB)
- Perform backups, recovery, and version upgrades (RDS, servers)
- Monitor infrastructure via CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and SNS
2. Infrastructure & OS Operations
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, and security hardening
- Manage system configurations (packages, users, file systems)
- Monitor server health and respond to alerts
- Troubleshoot OS and infrastructure issues
3. Storage & Backup
- Manage storage services (EBS, S3, EFS)
- Ensure backup success and perform restoration when required
- Maintain data availability and integrity
4. Network Management
- Configure and maintain VPCs, subnets, routing tables
- Manage security groups, NACLs, and Elastic IPs
- Set up connectivity (internet, on-prem, VPC integrations)
- Troubleshoot network-related issues
5. Monitoring & Incident Handling
- Monitor infrastructure (CPU, memory, disk, backups)
- Perform first-level analysis and incident resolution
- Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting systems
6. Change & Service Management
- Coordinate infrastructure changes with stakeholders
- Follow ITIL-based processes for change and incident management
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement
7. Security & Compliance
- Enforce OS and infrastructure security standards
- Manage encryption, certificates, and secrets (AWS Secrets Manager)
- Monitor unauthorized changes (AWS Config, Security Hub)
- Support audits and ensure compliance (e.g., GDPR)
8. Performance & Continuity
- Monitor system and database performance
- Support performance tuning and optimization
- Ensure disaster recovery readiness and participate in DR drills
9. Reporting & Governance
- Prepare weekly/monthly service reports
- Participate in service review and governance meetings
- Track SLA adherence and service performance
Required Skills
- Strong experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch)
- Linux/Windows system administration expertise
- Knowledge of networking, security, and backup strategies
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident/change management)
- Minimum experience required 8 years
