Experience with solutions such as Google App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, or open-source communities is highly desirable. A solid understanding of core data structures, CI/CD pipelines, web protocols, and web technologies is required. Basic system and network administration knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows platforms is essential. The candidate should have a strong background in designing and deploying multi-tenant IaaS and PaaS solutions on Google Cloud, along with familiarity with SDLC and continuous delivery tools like GitLab CI, TravisCI, CircleCI, or Jenkins. Proficiency in automation scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ansible is necessary, along with experience in cloud solution design patterns including microservices, messaging, distributed caching, and IAM. Hands-on experience with GCP services like VPC, Cloud Compute Engine, API Gateway, DataProc, DataFusion, and Data Science tools such as BigQuery, Vertex AI, and DataFusion is required. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is also important.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing service and change requests within defined SLA and TAT, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. Participating in scheduled operational activities such as disaster recovery drills, deployments, and patching is a key aspect of the role. The Cloud Engineer will define, document, and implement best practices and strategies related to application deployment and infrastructure maintenance, continuously seeking improvements to existing setups. Monitoring cloud resources for health checks, alerts, and notifications is critical to maintaining optimal performance and availability. The role also involves supporting troubleshooting efforts for connectivity issues, VM management, networking, storage, and service accounts. Assisting in root cause analysis and implementing mitigation strategies for critical incidents is vital. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams during planning, designing, and solutioning discussions to develop scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Ensuring adherence to cloud security best practices and compliance standards using CSPM tools is a core responsibility. Additionally, the role includes supporting data science initiatives using services like BigQuery, Vertex AI, and DataProc, and working with cloud management and monitoring tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Error Reporting, and Trace.
