About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Support Engineer to join our Cloud Operations Centre (COC) Team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing 24x7 managed support for mission-critical cloud infrastructure managed by Yotta for our global clientele. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in cloud and systems administration, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and the open-source community to ensure seamless cloud operations, timely resolution of incidents, and continuous improvement of service quality. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the stability and scalability of enterprise cloud platforms.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a relevant experience of 3-10 years in technical operations, with a strong foundation in cloud and systems management. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Certifications in cloud platforms, Linux administration, or networking are advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, and possess a proactive attitude towards problem-solving. Experience working in a fast-paced, 24x7 support environment is highly desirable, along with a passion for continuous learning and technology innovation.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities in this role will be centered around the following:
- Providing 24x7 monitoring and support for cloud environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Ensuring that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met by providing timely responses and resolutions to incidents and requests.
- Documenting and maintaining detailed technical build documentation for customer environments.
- Managing upgrades for existing deployments, including planning, implementation, and documentation.
- Overseeing the deployment of new remote sites, ensuring proper documentation and configuration.
- Delivering internal training sessions to enhance team knowledge and capabilities.
- Acting as a Technical Account Manager for key customers, providing dedicated support and strategic guidance.
- Engaging with the open-source community to stay updated on latest developments and contribute where possible.
Must-have Skills
Role
Needless to say, this role is a combination of proven technical aptitude, experience, and the ability to think spontaneously. We will evaluate your candidature based on the following criteria:
- Proficient in Linux system administration and usage.
- Experience with deploying and managing hypervisors such as KVM, ESXi, and XenServer.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Apache CloudStack (preferably) and OpenStack.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving production issues efficiently.
- Experience participating in support activities, managing on-call schedules, and utilizing support tools effectively.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including software-defined networking (SDN).
- Knowledge of storage protocols and technologies such as CIFS, NFS, and object storage (S3).
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
