Role Overview:
We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer (Data Protection Architect) who will be responsible for designing and ensuring robust data protection strategies across AWS environments. The role involves working closely with enterprise cloud and application teams to review, enhance, and enforce data protection architectures, ensuring compliance with encryption and cryptographic key management standards.
Responsibilities:
• Design and review data protection architectures for applications hosted on AWS.
• Collaborate with enterprise cloud and application teams to implement secure data protection strategies.
• Ensure compliance with encryption standards and cryptographic key management practices.
• Guide application teams in enhancing their data protection posture across AWS environments.
• Ensure protection of sensitive data, including PII and cardholder data, across the full data lifecycle (data at rest, in transit, and in use).
• Conduct architecture reviews and recommend improvements aligned with security best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to embed security controls into cloud-native applications.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide consultation on secure cloud design, networking, and encryption mechanisms.
Required Skills:
• 10+ years of experience in Cloud Security / Data Protection Architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services and cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of data protection, encryption techniques, and cryptographic key management.
• Understanding of cloud networking and secure architecture design principles.
• Experience handling sensitive data such as PII and cardholder data.
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards related to data protection and security.
• Ability to work with application and cloud teams to implement security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Good to Have:
• Certifications in AWS Security or Cloud Security (e.g., AWS Security Specialty)
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
