As our platforms scale, robust cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP becomes critical to support application deployment, reliability, and system performance.
Role Overview
As a Cloud Engineer Intern, you will assist in building, managing, and improving the cloud infrastructure that powers AIRMAN’s applications.
This internship is designed to give you hands-on exposure to real-world AWS and GCP environments, cloud deployment workflows, infrastructure configuration, and operational best practices.
You will gain experience working with modern cloud-native development workflows and scalable infrastructure systems.
What You Will Work On
During the internship, you may:
- Assist in deploying applications on AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Work with compute services such as AWS EC2 or GCP Compute Engine
- Support containerized deployments using Docker
- Assist with cloud storage and database services such as S3, Cloud Storage, RDS, or Cloud SQL
- Support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools
- Help configure cloud networking components such as security groups, firewalls, and ports
- Assist in managing development, staging, and production environments
- Monitor application logs and cloud service metrics
- Support basic infrastructure troubleshooting and deployment debugging
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure documentation and deployment guidelines
- Learn structured release management and versioning practices
You will collaborate closely with backend and AI engineers to understand how infrastructure impacts system scalability, reliability, and performance.
Technical Requirements
We are looking for strong fundamentals and willingness to learn cloud systems.
Cloud Fundamentals (AWS / GCP Focus)
- Basic understanding of AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with cloud services such as virtual machines, storage services, and managed databases
- Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts such as IP addressing, ports, firewalls, and security groups
- Understanding of environment variables and configuration management
Containers and Deployment
- Basic knowledge of Docker
- Understanding of containerization and why it is used in modern deployments
- Familiarity with Dockerfile structure and container image concepts
CI/CD and Version Control
- Basic Git usage including commit, push, pull, and branching workflows
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment concepts
- Exposure to GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools is a plus
Systems and Debugging
- Basic familiarity with Linux command-line tools
- Understanding of client-server architecture
- Willingness to investigate and troubleshoot deployment or infrastructure issues
Preferred
- Experience deploying a small application to AWS or GCP
- Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration concepts
- Basic knowledge of load balancing or caching systems such as Redis
- Participation in hackathons, open-source projects, or technical cloud projects
